Corey Porter
Senior Risk Advisor(603) 296-0700 ext. 5262
Corey Porter is a seasoned expert in the insurance industry, bringing over two decades of experience as a former SIU Claims Investigator in the Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits industry. In 2012, Corey founded Unity Investigations, LLC, a privately owned insurance claims investigation firm, serving as the investigatory arm for many of today’s large and small insurance carriers. Throughout his claims investigation career, he gained an in-depth understanding of the complexities and nuances of insurance claims, uncovering the tactics often used by carriers to minimize payouts and increase premium costs & exposures through complex policy language and improper risk transfer. Prior to joining Alera Group in 2024, Corey sold his business in 2017 and worked for USI Insurance Services and Eastern Insurance Services (now AJG).
Today, Corey leverages his insider knowledge to advocate for policyholders, helping them navigate the claims process and avoid being taken advantage of by insurance companies. With a commitment to fairness and transparency, Corey provides valuable guidance and support to ensure insureds receive the full benefits they are entitled to as a policy holder. His expertise has made him a trusted advisor for individuals and entities seeking to protect their employees and assets and achieve fair outcomes in their insurance claims. He is a strong advocate for insurance solutions that are performance-based in nature to help clients navigate and mitigate their exposure to an ever-evolving insurance market.
Corey has served as an expert witness for the Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire Departments of Labor, the New York State Workers Compensation Board, the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents, and the United States Department of Labor. He is passionate about educating on the benefits of strong broker relationships, and the risks of inadequate claim advocacy, the pitfalls of common uncovered claims, and the successful mitigation of fraudulent claims in Workers Compensation, Professional Liability, Property and Casualty and Commercial Auto.
